John Mason and the internationally renowned Scottish Fiddle Orchestra, with their leader William Cook, were invited to take part in an Irish Concert Tour to include the major cities of Belfast and Dublin. This tour was to coincide with Dublin's year as European City of Culture. With guests Mary Sandeman (mezzo-soprano), James Nicol (tenor), compere Robbie Shepherd and piper David Low, the SFO played to ecstatic audiences ~ many hearing for the first time the exciting sound of this huge orchestra.

This recording captures the highlights of the show and also on video portrays much of the scenic beauty of the Emerald Isle together with behind-the -scenes shots of many of the participants preparing for performances, relaxing and enjoying themselves.
